Loads Of Fun Things To Do In Dubai

Hi this is Kish here talking about the splendid Dubai entertainment options.

Dubai is one of the most happening cities in the world today. Dubai is also often referred to as the City of Gold, Festival City, and the Shopping Capital of the Middle East. Dubai has transformed drastically ever since I moved there in 1994.

As far as Dubai entertainment is concerned, Dubai City could easily be compared with cities like New York, London, Paris, etc. As a matter of fact, you will find everything which all these different cities have to offer in one hot spot location; you got it right- Dubai! Read my top things to do in Dubai list here.

Some of the various points of interest in Dubai include the numerous parks in Dubai, shopping malls, Dubai nightlife and restaurants.

MOE (as the general public would call it) which is the largest mall in the Middle East consists of about 2,400,000 sq feet of shopping space, gaming area, movie theatres, art gallery, and mouth watering cuisines from all across the world. Ski Dubai, the indoor ski slope is its biggest claim to fame.

Dubai Festival City, known as the World Class Waterfront Lifestyle Resort is another destination which should not be missed. It comprises shopping, dining, entertainment, homes, schools, hotels, and offices in one place. This sub area of Dubai City gives an excellent microcosm of what Dubai entertainment is all about!

Spread along the Dubai creek, it provides a feel of the river walk in San Antonio (hey I am living in Texas at present!), only a much cleaner and nicer version. And then there is the ever-popular Dubai Gold Market or Souk. Souk means a traditional market in Arabic.

Set in the heart of eastern Dubai’s commercial business district Deira, this souk literally has gold everywhere. There are narrow lanes (just like the alleys in Manhattan, but less scary), streets and buildings full of gold and diamonds in this area and individuals from all over the world trade almost exclusively in jewelry.

The souk has a lot to provide such as earrings, bracelets, pendants, rings, and necklaces. Just a fast fact- Over twenty five tons of gold is showcased at the Gold Souk at any given time.

Little did I know that there is so much in Dubai, moving on to Dubai’s night life. After all, I was only 17 when I moved out – not actually the partying age!

Bars and clubs certainly stay open till 3 am and are situated all across the city in big touristy hotels. Big name DJ’s are quite common in Dubai and dress codes are generally relaxed, inspite of the fact that some do not permit jeans, sandals, or trainers. Dubai nightlife is a big piece of the complete Dubai entertainment package!

You could chill at a coffee shop by the waterfront, for a more mellow night out and smoke a smooth flavored tobacco from a shisha (hookah) pipe. Particularly on the weekends, majority of the coffee shops and restaurants stay open until midnight or even later. Or you could always kick back home and entertain yourself with amazing Dubai TV viewing.

Last but certainly not the least, Dubai restaurants incorporate flavors from all across the world. From road side shawarmas (Middle Eastern style sandwich) and cocktail juices, to scrumptious meals in excellent hotels, no food junkie can leave this city disappointed. Dubai City is the place for you, if you adore food!
